- 1 lb spaghetti or linguine
- 6 tbsp butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

- 2 tbsp pasta water (reserved)

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.

While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to create a silky sauce.

Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley and half the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
